Suggestions:
Humans have affected the
Alaskan Tundra both directly and indirectly. Previously, this ecosystem has affected by over hunting and over fishing, however, that has been controlled but now drilling for oil, building
pipelines, and pollution is huge concern. In addition, humans have affected the Alaskan Tundra
through climate change, which has ultimately increased the temperatures of the environment. In order to balance people and the ecosystem, we suggest that we make
decisions on a daily basis to reduce polluting the environment. Moreover, we can be frugal with
our oil resources and reduce our time driving by opting to ride a bike or
walk whenever possible. On a bigger scale than these day-to-day choices, the local people can
also change their food choices in regards to the food they eat and in turn reducing the necessity to hunt and fishing in moderation, thus, reducing the affects on the Alaskan Tundra. Considering in the United
States we have full access to the monoculture agricultural strategy that yields
more than enough food for us to survive, we can make the choice to not partake in foods obtained through hunting and fishing in environments where animals are already struggling to survive due to the climate changes they are facing.
